Ujhala Foundation

Our organization is actively engaged in enhancing education and health services in the Kotra region, a tehsil situated in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan, approximately 125 km from the city of Udaipur. Kotra encompasses an expansive area of 1,110.93 square kilometers, characterized by its diverse natural landscape and significant tribal population. This demographic factor presents unique challenges and opportunities for development in the region.

In recognition of these challenges, our library initiative is designed to establish an accessible, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment specifically tailored for children in rural and underserved communities like those found in Kotra. The primary aim of this initiative is to cultivate a passion for reading and promote literacy among children who may otherwise have restricted access to books, technology, and educational resources.

Our vision for the library spaces—located within government schools—is to transform them into safe havens for intellectual and creative exploration. Beyond merely providing books, these spaces will encourage community engagement and foster personal growth among students. We plan to host a variety of educational programs and activities that not only enhance literacy skills but also inspire creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among young learners.

By focusing on the needs and aspirations of the community, we aim to empower children in Kotra to explore new ideas and broaden their horizons, ultimately contributing to their personal development and the overall growth of the region.
