Savitribai Phule Village Library & Resource Centre

Savitribai Phule Village Library is dedicated to cultivating an anti-caste ethos, where the term “anti-caste” embraces inclusivity, equality, and justice.
Our mission is to create a welcoming space that enables children and youth from historically oppressed backgrounds to not only access knowledge but also to actively engage in the joy of learning and reading. Our library seeks to empower these children and communities by offering them the opportunity to choose books that resonate with their interests and by providing a platform to explore a diverse range of educational possibilities.

In pursuit of our vision, we strive to foster an educational culture within these communities, aiming to be a catalyst for positive change. We also endeavor to be a place where marginalised individuals can delve into the rich history of their ancestors’ struggles and sacrifices. By doing so, we hope to inspire a sense of pride, resilience, and a commitment to breaking the chains of historical inequities.

At Savitribai Phule Library, we are dedicated to fostering an environment that not only promotes Education and knowledge acquisition but also nurtures a deeper understanding of the societal challenges (caste, class, gender, disability, etc.) faced by marginalized communities. Through our anti-caste approach, we aim to contribute to a future where education becomes a powerful force for social transformation and equality.

We believe that a library is a community resource, apart from children and students, we also help the community as per their needs, such as with information regarding health, and other basic needs.
