Sangwari Yuva Network

During the period of the COVID-19 lockdown, we initiated the library at Sangwari to make it accessible to those who engage the children with books as due to the lockdown children were bound to their houses as schools were shut down. The library engages mostly with the children and youth from the Gonds Community through open learning centers within the surrounding two villages. The primary objective of the library is to provide access to books and education for individuals at two different time period, i.e., morning sessions for children and evening sessions for youth and young adults, while also serving as a secure environment for hands-on activities, communal play, and the expression of their creativity and curious minds.

We are also trying to create more books in our local languages with the help of our library members so that we can bring our local folktales to the bigger world.
