Mehrauli Community Library

A free lending library focused on local children and youth who are largely attending government schools. Other than core book-related services, we promote engagement and literacy, offer computer classes and host a range of activity workshops and performances on weekends.

– Enrolment/ admission: prospective members must provide detailed addresses and working WhatsApp numbers, as well as school details, agree to join a members’ WA group, and abide by the library rules.
– Only after a week’s membership can they borrow (2 x books for 1 week) and only after a month’s membership (and if they are 11 years or older) can they use the online desktops.
– We don’t have a detailed policy on anti-discrimination/ inclusion but we continually welcome everyone and highlight that all are welcome.
– We have library rules/ guidelines to ensure the place functions practically and peacefully for a wide variety of users (e.g. remaining quiet, respecting each other and the books, no eating & drinking, etc etc)
