Kitaab Kosh, Gandhi Colony Library

Welcome to Kitaab Kosh, the Gandhi Colony Free Library, where we not only open books to read but also our hearts to understand each other. This library was launched by the Joy of Helping Foundation in March 2022 and began as a pilot program featuring Read Aloud sessions. Due to the enthusiastic response, we quickly expanded our offerings.

Initially open only on Saturdays, the library now welcomes visitors on both Saturdays and Sundays, thanks to the children’s eager demand. Our library has since grown into a vibrant community space filled with learning and joy.

Our collection includes a diverse range of Hindi, English, and bilingual books suitable for all age groups. We continually update our shelves with new titles to keep our collection engaging and relevant. We also have a dedicated section for academic resources, including course books from class 5th to 12th and additional reference materials for various college courses, providing valuable support for young students in their academic pursuits.

In addition to our extensive library collection, we offer a variety of enriching programs every Sunday:
– Free Coding Classes: Empowering children with essential digital skills in a fun and supportive environment.
– Life Coaching Sessions: Conducted by a certified life coach, these sessions help foster personal growth, resilience, and a positive mindset.
– Activity Classes: Engaging activities such as drawing, games, and creative workshops to stimulate young minds.
– Internship Program: A unique opportunity for young teenagers to volunteer, gain valuable experience, and learn the art of storytelling and conducting Read Aloud sessions.

Kitaab Kosh is more than just a library; it’s a community hub where learning and creativity flourish. Together, let’s open books and hearts, and embark on a journey of discovery and understanding.
