Community Library
Khwāb Ghar, which translates to “house of dreams,” is a vibrant community hub located in the heart of Nizamuddin Basti. It serves as a sanctuary for local residents, especially children, fostering a safe and inclusive environment. Our playful library is designed to be accessible to all members of the community, emphasizing the importance of listening to and centering the unique experiences of each individual.
At Khwāb Ghar, we believe in the transformative power of literature and the arts. Our mission is to create a nurturing space where readers can immerse themselves in the world of books and stories, igniting their curiosity and imagination. We actively encourage our visitors to explore personal connections between the narratives they encounter and their own lives.
Khwāb Ghar is equipped with a diverse array of facilities to enhance the learning experience. Our library boasts an extensive collection of books and offers engaging reading programs tailored to different age groups and interests. Beyond the library, the center features designated workshop spaces and counseling rooms, ensuring we can accommodate a variety of community needs—from educational workshops to personal development sessions. The goal of our playful library is to ensure accessibility for everyone, creating an inviting environment where every individual feels welcome and included. We strive to recognize and celebrate the diverse experiences of our community, understanding that each person’s relationship with books and reading is unique and meaningful.
Our mission is to cultivate a safe and nurturing space that encourages readers to delve into a wide range of books and stories. We aim to foster a sense of curiosity and exploration, allowing individuals to engage with literature not only as a form of entertainment but also as a pathway to understanding themselves and the world around them. By integrating the arts into our reading experiences, we provide opportunities for readers to express their creativity while making connections between the narratives they encounter and their own lives. Through workshops, events, and collaborative projects, we aspire to enrich the reading experience, making it a vibrant part of our members’ everyday journeys.
Additionally, we embrace the power of visual storytelling through regular film screenings that spark discussion and reflection among our audience. The performing arts are also a key focus, with dedicated rehearsal spaces and an open-air performance area that invite creativity and expression. Through these various offerings, Khwāb Ghar stands as a beacon of hope, inspiration, and growth for the community it serves.
