At Pipilitara Foundation, we are proud to embark on another transformative journey in Totopara, nestled in the breathtaking Indo-Bhutan border of West Bengal. Our latest initiative revolves around establishing a community-based school library in partnership with the Toto community, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG). The dedication of the Toto people to education is truly inspiring. Despite living deep within the jungle for centuries, they are passionate about ensuring their children have access to knowledge and learning. Yet, the need for quality education and books remains critical.
Totopara is one of the most remote areas in our country, where the journey itself can feel like an adventure. During the summer months, reaching the community poses its own set of challenges, but come monsoon, those challenges multiply—crossing seven rivers is just part of the quest to deliver support to these resilient families. We believe that even a few books can spark transformation and open up a world of possibilities for these young minds. By providing the resources they need, we aim to empower the Toto community to build a brighter future for generations to come.
Together, let’s help ignite the flame of education in this beautiful corner of the world!
